The St Croix Mojo spinning rod is built for bass and can be a great option for a variety of presentations. It comes in a range of lengths, from 6 foot 8 inches up to a 9 foot 6 inch rod for float-and-fly fishing.

There are also a range of power options, including medium light, medium and medium heavy, so that you can choose the right one to suit your favored technique.

The Mojo spinning rod is made from high modulus graphite for strength and durability and features Kigan Master Hand 3D guides that have tough aluminum oxide rings to minimize additional weight.

The rod also benefits from a Fuji DPS reel seat and a lightweight, durable cork split-grip handle.

Fast Action

The Mojo spinning rods come in extra fast and fast action, with the exception of the 9 foot 6 rod, which has a moderate action. The fast action tips can be ideal for bass fishing, as it can mean setting your hook is easier. It can also mean improved sensitivity, which can come in handy when using finesse tactics.

The graphite and cork construction of the rod allows for a lightweight feel, which can be more comfortable to hold during a full day of fishing.

For example, the 7 foot 1 inch medium power fast action rod weighs just 4.1 ounces and is designed to be used with 6 to 12 pound test line and 3/16 to ⅝ ounce lures. It is also available as either a one piece rod or a two piece rod, for added convenience.

And Let’s Not Forget The Casting Rod Version…

The Mojo Casting rod has been specifically designed for bass fishing and for a range of techniques but could be particularly useful for topwater baits. It’s available in both one and two piece versions, with some models only available as a one piece option.

The Mojo casting rod is a freshwater rod that is crafted with graphite and features a Fuji ECS reel seat and low profile aluminum oxide guides similar to the guides on the spinning model.

It also features a split-grip cork handle and a hook keeper.

The Mojo rod is built for a range of techniques and allows for longer casting and heavier line than the Mojo spinning rod.

It can be an ideal choice for fishing with topwater baits, such as frogs and can be great for jigs and jerkbaits, as well as soft plastics.

What Are St Croix Mojo Rods Best Suited For?

Mojo rods have been designed specifically for bass fishing. They are primarily freshwater rods, however the Mojo spinning rod is also available in a saltwater version for inshore bass fishing.

These rods are mostly medium power rods with fast action tips, which can be ideal for a range of bass fishing techniques, including finesse techniques.

They are built for lighter lures and lighter line and can be great for fishing with soft plastics, drop shot rigs and wacky rigs. The Mojo spinning rods can also be ideal for beginners, as well as more experienced anglers looking for a versatile rod.

For heavier line and lures, there is also a Mojo casting rod (more on that further below) that has been designed specifically for freshwater bass fishing. This casting rod can be useful if you’re looking for a jig fishing or topwater fishing rod. However, if you’re looking to fish in saltwater you may prefer a more saltwater specific rod.
