The Yellowfin 120 Is For…
This is a fishing kayak aimed at the serious anglers out there. It’s packed with features to make your fishing trip more successful, including space for gear, rod holders, accessories, and more.
This spacious sit-on-top kayak is designed to be easy to get in and out of, whether you’re a beginner or not. And it’s built to be easy to move around on deck to grab your fishing gear and tend to your catch.
While this is a speedy fishing kayak, it’s not going to be as fast across the water as a narrow touring kayak. You may also find that it’s not as easy to manuever as a shorter kayak. But it can be ideal for fishing trips on ocean bays, large lakes, and rivers.
It could also be a pretty good option for a weekend kayak camping trip and equally great for bringing your dog along for the ride.
While this is an extremely stable fishing kayak, it’s not designed as an entry-level kayak. A wider, shorter kayak might be a better option if you’re a new paddler. It’s also pretty heavy, so you may need a trolley or kayak cart to haul it down to the water.
Top Features Of The Vibe Yellowfin 120
Stability
The Vibe Yellowfin has been engineered to offer incredible stability on flatwater. This means you can fish and paddle comfortably.
As well as a high level of initial or primary stability, the Yellowfin 120 also has a decent amount of secondary stability. This can allow you to fish in rougher waters, such as choppy ocean bays and surf.
With the optional rudder kit you can also handle slow-moving rivers and ocean currents while maintaining your position at the best angling spot.

Customization
The Vibe Yellowfin 120 is made for customization. So if you love the idea of adding multiple accessories to your boat to tailor it to your fishing game then the Yellowfin could be the ideal boat.
This angler kayak comes with as many as 10 gear tracks. This gives you plenty of scope to add your own accessories without having to drill into the hull of the boat.
The multiple locations of the gear tracks also lets you install your electronics and accessories in the most convenient place on the deck.
You also have the option of adding Vibe’s toe-controlled rudder kit if you want enhanced performance and control in moving water and wind.
Space For Gear
The Vibe Yellowfin 120 has a lot of space for fishing gear. The large rear tank well can be ideal for holding a fishing crate or cooler, or perhaps both if you opted for a compact cooler alongside your crate. The rear tank well also has bungee rigging to secure your equipment.
There’s a large covered cargo area at the bow, which has an easy-open lid for quick access to gear. Additionally, there’s a 6-inch center hatch for valuables and it conveniently has a cargo bag so you can easily reach everything inside.
You’ll also find tackle tray storage slots at the side of the seat and you can make use of the space under the seat to store extra gear.
Comfort
The Yellowfin 120 features the second generation Vibe Hero seating system. This has a mesh fabric cover for ventilation (it’s also quick to dry).
The seat offers two seating positions: upright and recline. The backrest can be adjusted easily even when you’re on the water. It has an easy-to-use track system that lets you alter the position with one hand.
A nice feature of this seat is that it’s removable and can be used on the shore when you stop for lunch.
The seat is compatible with the Vibe’s Summit Perch (sold separately). This can let you sit or stand 16-inches above the deck giving you an excellent vantage point for fishing. The optional platform can be a good accessory for fly fishing and easier casting.
There are sliding foot rests for stability and improved paddling posture. And there’s an easy-to-reach cup holder so you can stay hydrated on long trips.
You can keep your paddle secure while you fish in your choice of three paddle parks (two at the sides and one at the front).
Another good feature is the eight scupper holes for self-bailing. Scupper plugs are also included so you can keep your deck dry.
We’re not the only ones who think this is a great kayak if you want to customize it to your own specifications. There are plenty of other users out there who are adding their own accessories to make this kayak their own. Just like these guys.

The Wilderness Systems Radar 115 is 4-inches shorter than the Yellowfin but the same width, which could make it a little easier to maneuver.
It’s comfortable and has excellent stability, with a stand-assist strap to help you get to your feet for easy casting. It also has ample storage space for all your fishing equipment, including storage hatches. But these great features come at a higher price than the Yellowfin.
You can easily personalize this boat, with the included SlideTrax rails allowing you to install your own accessories and electronics (not included). It also has options to add a motor or pedal drive system if you want added power.

Vibe Yellowfin 100
The Vibe Yellowfin 100 could be a good alternative if you want some of the same great features of the Yellowfin 120 but would prefer a smaller package. This is the 10-foot version which is just an inch narrower, so it could offer even more stability than the larger 120.
You can stand up to fish and there’s plenty of room for fishing equipment. There are flush mount rod holders, gear tracks, storage hatches, and a large rear tank well for your crate. However, there are less options for customization and less space for gear compared to the Yellowfin 120.
This could be a great choice if you prefer to fish in smaller bodies of water and want a kayak that’s a little easier to maneuver in tight rivers or backwaters. This can also be easier to haul in the back of a pickup than the longer version.
